Songbird Studio is a Irvine-based travelling music studio, independently owned and operated by Morgan Powers. Established in 2023, Songbird has served over twenty-five and counting families in Orange County, providing invaluable private lessons to students from the comfort of your own home.
The mission of Songbird Studio is to equip students with musical literacy through singing, using Kodaly-inspired, Curwen solfege methods, and tailored curriculum that emphasizes the importance of playing music with joy, beauty, and excellence to the glory of God.
As we engage in the creative process together, my hope is that you would grow in knowledge and skill as you cultivate your instrument, experience "lightbulb" moments in your practice, love music more than you did when you started, and use the talents you've been given to the glory of God.
You were made to sing.
Morgan was nicknamed "songbird" by her piano teacher for her constant music-making as a student. She grew up homeschooled, sang in choir, and performed in musical theatre, so it's no wonder why. "Songbird" had a nice ring to it, so she started her own music practice while getting her bachelors' degree. While Morgan has taught singers and pianists up to seventy-four years old, she especially enjoys working with kindergarten students. When she isn't teaching, you can find her keeping her pencil sharp as a wedding and memorial soloist. Morgan is a California native and currently attends Mariners Church in Irvine, where she and her fiancée, Andrew Wilson, will tie the knot in 2026. She eagerly anticipates calling Prescott, Arizona "home" and teaching new students to sing and play to the glory of God.
Coram Deo.
